How does a final grade calculator work?+
It calculates the score you need on your final exam by working backwards from your target grade, your current grade, and the weight of the final exam.
What is the formula?+
Required final score = (target grade − current grade × (1 − final weight)) ÷ final weight, where final weight is expressed as a decimal (for example, 30% becomes 0.30).
What if I need more than 100% on the final?+
If the calculator returns a value over 100, it means your target grade is no longer mathematically possible based on your current grade and the final exam weight. You may need to lower your target.
